Sarah Barbulesco
Head of Education, teacher
The goal of teaching should be to excite students about learning and to help them to use education to make their dreams a reality. While teaching for the past six years in both the public and private sector, I have always worked with this philosophy as my guiding light and have aided many students, both advanced and struggling, to reach higher and find joy in learning. I believe one of the most tragic qualities in people today is apathy. Students need to understand the power that they have within each of them as individuals to change the world around them. At Wayne Geri Academy, we foster critical and creative thinking in our students and encourage them to be inquisitive, intelligent, and productive members of their communities.
Robert Kohler
Founder, teacher
I believe that learning requires interest, apparent application and challenge. Too often school lacks all three of these aspects. After teaching in the private sector for five years and working in the public sector for two, I have seen again and again that successful students are those that are interested in learning. I can't make every kid interested in quantum physics, though if any are interested I would be happy to teach it. I can however find the subjects a student is interested in and then mold instruction to those interests, thereby creating a scenario for success both at this level and the next.
